Throughout the month, Shurooq has designed bespoke cultural and culinary experiences at its top hospitality, cultural, and leisure destinations to enable families and visitors to experience unity, transcend boundaries, and create moments of joy and connection for all.
Cultural weekends: Celebrate Holy Month with Shurooq Ramadan Nights
Offering two packed weekends from 15 - 17 and 22 - 24 March, Shurooq is activating some of its top destinations across the emirate of Sharjah to bring the UAE community around an array of cultural activities designed to celebrate the unique traditions of Ramadan as well as to foster the Holy Month’s spirit of unity and togetherness.
● Ramadan Nights at Al Majaz Waterfront: Sharjah’s most popular waterfront will welcome visitors to enjoy cultural performances from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
● Ramadan Nights & Ramadan Market at Al Heera Beach: Ramadan Nights will be held on both weekends. Visitors can immerse themselves in culinary delights, and live performances from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Al Heera Beach. The Ramadan Market will run from 22-24 March, 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
● Ramadan Nights at Khorfakkan Beach: Expect live performances, and festive decorations from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM on the picturesque Khorfakkan Beach on both weekends.
● Ramadan Nights at Al Montazah Parks: Highlighted by enchanting Arabic music, a special BBQ iftar, and diverse entertainment options at the Island of Legends. This unique offering is available from sunset to 1:00 AM at a special price. Additionally, from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, visitors can enjoy live performances and festive decorations, further enriching the Ramadan festivities.
Break bread together: Community-inspired Iftar and Suhoor experiences
Shurooq has also curated warm and welcoming Iftar and Suhoor experiences at its destinations, which showcase the best of Sharjah’s civilisational heritage, culture, and natural beauty.
● Iftar By the Bay at Al Noor Island: This is the perfect spot for a specially curated lakeside dining experience. Iftar from sunset, however, those who purchase tickets can come earlier and enjoy the island’s breathtaking scenery as well as full access to Al Noor Island’s famous Butterfly House, which closes at 6:00 PM. The experience also includes complimentary sky watch sessions with an educator, starting 9:00 PM.
● Ramadan Star Lounge at Mleiha Archaeological Centre: For those who want an Iftar under the stars at a venue that holds the region’s prehistoric civilisational treasures, must head to the Mleiha Archaeological Centre. Running from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the complete experience will include traditional beverages, 20 minutes of stargazing on clear nights, numerous child- and family-friendly games and activities including photo ops and short horse rides.
● Exclusive Studio Tour and Suhoor with Khalid Al Banna at "1971 - Design Space": Get a closer look at Emirati Artist Khalid Al Banna's art practices and approach through this studio tour and talk on March 21, 2024, at 9:00 PM., as Maraya Art Centre hosts his first institutional exhibition titled “Sharp Edges.” For art enthusiasts interested in an unforgettable Suhoor experience, “1971 - Design Space” is hosting a Suhoor Gathering on March 28, 2024, at 9:00 PM.
● Discover the Spirit of Ramadan in the Heart of Sharjah: Heart of Sharjah is offering visitors a unique Ramadan experience with an authentic Iftar menu at the oldest marketplace in the UAE, Souq Al Arsa. The experience includes giving away handouts to people around, tours around Souq Al Shanasiyah and Souq Saqr, and a boat tour on “Sharjah Boats” at the Sharjah Corniche.
● Private Iftar Experience & Daily Iftar Buffet at The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah: Groups of 50-80 can indulge in a private Iftar experience at The Library from sunset to 8:30 PM, while families can visit The Restaurant for a delightful and traditional Arabic Iftar buffet from sunset to 8:30 PM daily throughout Ramadan.
● Bedouin-inspired Iftar at Al Badayer Retreat: A sumptuous Iftar menu featuring dishes inspired by centuries-old Ramadan traditions will be available throughout the Holy Month at the Al Badayer Retreat’s Al Madam Restaurant. The Al Badayer desert’s unique red dunes and starlit night sky make for a unique ambience reminiscent of traditional Emirati life.
