Sharjah24: During the holy month of Ramadan, the Health Promotion Department (HPD) at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah (SCFA) has initiated its yearly campaign 'Health Crescent' to raise health awareness. The campaign focuses on highlighting key health and nutritional practices to observe during the holy month.
The campaign 'Health Crescent', carried out by the department, is geared towards all members of society. Its goal is to promote awareness about healthy behaviours and practices to be observed during Ramadan, as well as what to avoid in order to maintain individuals' health. The focus is on promoting a culture of healthy nutrition by sharing Ramadan recipes, suggesting healthy alternatives, and addressing common misconceptions associated with practices during the month of Ramadan.

Iman Rashid Saeed, Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, emphasised the Department's commitment to preserving the health of community members and promoting healthy habits and behaviours. Accomplishing this involves initiating campaigns and offering educational and awareness programmes that reach all sectors of society consistently. It all comes down to the Department's dedication towards creating a vibrant and healthy community, while also boosting Sharjah's standing as the leading healthy city in the Middle East.

She also stressed that the campaign is a crucial and distinguished awareness and education initiative, aligned with the visions and directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs. She highlights the significance of implementing high-quality programmes and initiatives to enhance health-related behaviours through the provision of relevant information and awareness consultations.
