Sharjah24: “Where Do I Go? Fifty Years Later” breathtaking exhibition at the International Photography Festival (Xposure) by the Lebanese- Palestinian Photographer Rania Matar , who found hope and inspiration in the young generation of women instead of focusing on destruction in the Lebanon to capture captivating photographs.
Rania Matar chose to focus on the young women’s majestic presence, creativity, strength, dignity, and resilience to be the color of her photographs in the “Where Do I Go? Fifty Years Later” exhibition, which the title refers to the 50 years anniversary of the Lebanese civil war.
She collaborated with young women to capture captivating photographs in the meaningful backdrops of the unique textures of Lebanon including walls of Beirut, the Mediterranean, raw mountains, traditional and abandoned buildings, and the layers of destruction accumulated over years, affirming that every picture has a narrative to express the hopes, pains, dreams, and fears.
Rania Matar emphasized that she has 31 photographs displayed for the first time, wishing to turn them to a book next year in 2025.
The Lebanese photographer emphasized that she lies on one camera and one lens and those women to capture photographs affirming that she avoids using I Pad and lighting system.
At the end of her speech , Rania Matar commended the stunning exhibition ( Xposure) where her vibrant photographs displayed in a creative manner, wishing visitors to visit her exhibition and enjoy touring at its corridors.
