Sharjah24: The Family Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council recently convened a meeting to assess its primary activities during the first regular session of the eleventh legislative chapter. The committee's objective is to enhance the family's role as a fundamental unit in building society, promoting social stability and comprehensive growth. It aims to provide proposals that bolster the family's role and fulfill its varied needs in a developed society.
The committee's efforts serve as a testament to the emirate's commitment to reinforcing the family's role and ensuring a dignified and stable life for all members of society. This is an important step forward in the ongoing social work process to enhance society's quality of life and well-being. The meeting was presided over by Saeed Matar bin Hamid Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, and attended by Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi, Committee Rapporteur, Abdullah Al Bedwi Al Hosani, Abdullah Maaden Al Ketbi, Abdullah bin Tarish Al Kaabi, Mohammed Al Alawi Al Dhahouri, Hamid Obaid Al Hamoudi, and Dr. Hind Al Hajri. Halima Al Owais, Vice President of the Council, and Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary General of the Council, were also present. Hoda Al Hammadi, Secretary from the General Secretariat of the Council, was also in attendance.

The meeting centered on reviewing the most critical activities and initiatives that could be implemented, and plans were developed to implement future initiatives. The focus was also on reviewing the family's challenges and discussing ways to confront them and provide appropriate support. The meeting also included developing plans to follow up on implementing the proposed programs and projects and enhancing awareness and education about family issues, rights, and duties.

Chairman Al Tunaiji emphasized the importance of supporting the family as a fundamental focus for achieving sustainable development. He stressed that the family's stability reflects the stability of the entire society and that family care must be a top priority in social and development policies. He also pointed out the committee's commitment to formulating visions that support the family and enhance its role as a fundamental focus in building a cohesive and stable society.
