Sharjah24: According to Mr. Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, the Director General of Sharjah Municipality and Chairman of the High Committee for Rain Emergencies, the municipality has been actively dealing with the weather situation since early morning. They have been working to improve their readiness for any changes caused by the low-pressure system. In addition, they have strengthened collaboration and coordination with relevant authorities, with the goal of maintaining a seamless flow of traffic and protecting lives and property. The municipality has taken proactive measures to address rainwater accumulation by providing over 175 tankers and 120 pumping stations across various areas and main roads.
Al Tunaiji pointed out that the municipality is now making every effort possible and supplying all of the essential equipment to field teams in order to be ready for the anticipated weather changes. In addition, the contact centre has improved its preparedness to take comments, questions, and reports from members of the general public.
Sharjah City Municipality has declared the closure of all parks in the city due to the current unpredictable weather conditions, with a priority on public safety. It confirmed that the parks would reopen as the weather improves.
