Sharjah 24: As a three-day joint effort, the Second Annual Conference on Best Practices in Teaching and Learning kicked off on February 5 at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), with Khalifa University and Amity University Dubai slated to host the days that followed.
“Sharjah 24” spoke with Dr. Norita Ahmad, Director of the AUS Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL), which organised the conference. Dr. Norita spoke on the conference and partnership with the universities, saying:
"Together with Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi and Amity University in Dubai, I am delighted to be the host of the Second-Best Practices in Teaching and Learning conference today. So as the subject at hand, the centre of attention at AUS, is the creative use of technology as well as emerging trends."
She went on to say that CITL is delighted to have experts in the field of education travel all the way from other countries to share their knowledge and insights with the participants, in the hopes that we could all learn something new and useful to use in our own classrooms.
"We have so many people coming in; it's a very interactive event," she continued. “More than 150 people have come today to not only hear from the professionals but also to ask questions, share ideas, and generally have a good time. Therefore, we are pleased to have achieved our goal of local innovation and networking today.”
