Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) offered training services for school bus drivers in association with the Sharjah Driving Institute (SDI).
Through this effort, 116 drivers were able to improve their efficiency and hone their abilities in order to guarantee the highest standards of safety for students throughout their transportation during the academic year.

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority's Chairman, Eng. Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, highlighted that the organisation started training school bus drivers at the commencement of the first semester, July 23 through December 6, of the previous year. The goal of this was to improve school student safety and security by implementing the agreement between the Sharjah Driving Institute and the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority.

Since the start of the school bus driver training programme until December 27 of the previous year, 391 drivers have attended training courses offered by the Authority, according to Abdulaziz Al Jarwan, Director of the Authority for Transportation Affairs.

He stated that the goal of the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority is to train 5,463 drivers who work for licenced school transport providers in the emirate of Sharjah.

The Sharjah emirate now has 8,767 registered drivers from outside the emirate, and the authority is looking forward to training them to work in the emirate.

The Director of the Privilege and Licencing Department, Sheikh Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, stated that the maximum number of drivers who can attend a given lecture is 35, contingent upon the language spoken. Trainees can receive training courses in Arabic, English, and another language.
