Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Volunteer Centre, under the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), has entered into a collaborative agreement with the Sharjah Old Cars Club (SOCC) at the centre's location.
The purpose of this agreement is to efficiently and effectively organise volunteer activities, ensuring the rights and responsibilities of volunteers, the club, and all participating entities. The primary objective is to strengthen the principles of cooperation between the two parties, thereby contributing to sustainable development and enhancing the quality of services provided to the community. This involves fostering a culture of volunteering within society through joint programmes and actively participating in the coordination of awareness initiatives and programmes for community members.
The shared commitments outlined in the agreement involve conducting bi-annual meetings between the parties to oversee the annual planning process for events and activities, as well as monitoring their progress. Additionally, both parties commit to collaborating on promoting the culture of volunteering through joint programmes and playing a role in organising awareness activities and programmes for the community.
This agreement is part of the broader efforts of Sharjah to bolster social services, encourage volunteering, and foster community engagement. Given that the Sharjah Volunteer Centre serves as the volunteering arm of the Emirate, there is a strong emphasis on strengthening collaborations with various government institutions to advance volunteering initiatives throughout Sharjah.
The agreement was signed by Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion in SSSD, and Saeed Mohammed bin Ashour, Director of Sharjah Old Cars Club.
