Al Muhairi wins showjumping championship on Kalba shore

Sharjah24: The horse rider, Abdullah Hameed Al Muhairi, won the Grand Prize in the inaugural international showjumping championship, a two-star event held on the shore of Kalba.
The event concluded the sixth Sharjah-Kalba Equestrian Festival, which featured ten contests challenged over four days from Thursday to Sunday, December 7 to 10. A total of 156 riders from 27 countries competed in the competition.

Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah's Office in Kalba, and Sheikh Abdullah Bin Majid Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club (SERC) and President of the International Equestrian Federation's Seventh Regional Group, both attended the competition.

The Sharjah Equestrian Club's General Manager, the Deputy Director of the Sharjah-Kalba Equestrian Festival, officials from sponsoring organisations, and many spectators who filled the site and enjoyed the contests throughout the championship were also present.

The tournament director, Sultan Al Yahyai, stated about the first international showjumping championship in Kalba, "With the generous blessing and directives from His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the previous showjumping competitions have been elevated to an international championship, held for the first time on the shores of Kalba."
