Sharjah 24: Sharjah Social Services (SSSD), represented by the Health Services Office, and in cooperation with Friends of Arthritis Patients (FOAP), affiliated with the Health Promotion Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, organised a health event under the slogan “Hand in Hand”.
The event, held at SSSD, included comprehensive vital examinations for osteoporosis and bone density examination for SSSD employees and beneficiaries. The initiative also included providing an awareness and guidance lecture and distributing awareness brochures on arthritis, with the aim of raising awareness and knowledge about treating the disease.
On this occasion, Fatima Dawoud Al Mazmi, Director of the Health Services Office, stated that the initiative, organised by the department in cooperation with its partners, aims to raise awareness about arthritis and provide moral support for this common disease, especially since many social groups do not have sufficient background.
Fatima Dawoud Al Mazmi pointed out that the initiative is an important step towards raising awareness among society about the importance of early detection of arthritis and the necessity of taking care of bone health and preventing arthritis, if detected early.
She appreciated the efforts of the Health Promotion Department to preserve the health of society through a number of initiatives at Sharjah level.
