Sharjah24: This morning, November 10th, under the patronage of the President's Diwan, the opening races of the two-year camel championship got underway in Al Dhaid. At the Al Dhaid racecourse, the Sharjah Camel Racing Club planned and oversaw 18 races for 2-year-old camels. Camel owners from the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries were up in force for the 3-kilometre race.
Matar Ali bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of Sharjah Camel Racing Club, acknowledged that the races in the President's Diwan Badge Camel Race highlighted the brilliance of the best-known camels, indicating great competitiveness to earn major awards. The competition's main objective was to get the camels ready for the major races coming up soon.
Bin Huwaiden continued, "the challenges of the 3-year-old camels will continue on Saturday, November 11, and the challenges of the 4-year-old camels will continue on Sunday, November 12."
