Sharjah24: Following directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA) made a number of visits to cooperative societies for fishermen in the emirate.
The purpose of the visits is to improve communication, learn about the fishermen's requirements, and find solutions to challenges. The directions of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to aid fishermen and foster a perfect environment for the activity will also be put into effect.
The visits included five cooperative societies for fishermen in Sharjah: Sharjah Cooperative Society, Al Hamriya Cooperative Society, Kalba Cooperative Society, Dibba Al Hisn Cooperative Society, and Khor Fakkan Cooperative Society.
As part of these visits, authority representatives met with local fishermen to hear their feedback and ideas. They also said they would boost services for fishermen.
In order to further its goals of improving food security and helping fishermen, the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA) is aiming to increase cooperation and coordination with cooperative societies for fishermen.
