Sharjah24: Maryam Rashid Al Zaabi, curator of the Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi House Museum in Kalba, stressed the significance of the building's reopening on Thursday, as a chance to view a collection of artifacts and tales that give visitors and those with an interest an exceptional and rich experience to navigate the city's history and appreciate the aesthetic value of the house's architecture.

In a captivating moment of history coming to life, the official inauguration of the historical house of Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi in Kalba took place. This remarkable house, which traces its origins all the way back to 1899, was opened by H.E. Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).

The inauguration ceremony drew a distinguished gathering, including Sheikh Salem bin Muhammad bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of (SCTDA), Aisha bin Demas, Director-General of the Sharjah Museums Authority, Jasim Hussein Bousaim, who presides over the Amiri Diwan in Kalba, Rashid Saeed Obaid bin Fraish Al Kindi, Chairman of Sahilah District Council, and a host of other prominent cultural luminaries.

Aisha Demas emphasised the significance of reopening this house, viewing it as a crucial step in preserving an important facet of Kalba's cultural and historical heritage.

She added that this century-old house offers visitors a unique and enriching experience that delves into the city's historical tapestry. The diverse exhibits within the house provide invaluable insights into life during that era, safeguarding our heritage for future generations.  Maryam Rashid Al Zaabi, the curator of Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi House Museum said to Sharjah24 that the house, situated opposite Kalba Fort overlooking the Gulf of Oman, offers visitors and enthusiasts a chance to explore a collection of artifacts and stories, enabling them to embark on a remarkable journey through Kalba's history and appreciate the architectural beauty of the house.

She highlighted that the house stands out due to its unique architectural features and decorations, and local craftsmen completed its construction in 1899 under the guidance of Sheikh Saeed bin Hamad Al Qasimi, ensuring that it incorporated all the elements of local design and cultural practices of that era.
