Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department at the Sharjah Social Department (SSSD), said that the number of volunteers reached 41 of both genders, whose ages ranged from 18 to 60 years, with an average of 806 volunteer hours.
Volunteers participated in the volunteer opportunity provided by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage in order to contribute to supervisory and organisational work, such as receiving visitors, recording their attendance, and guiding them to the hall. This field volunteer opportunity falls under the “Culture and Heritage Service.”
It is worth noting that since the establishment of the centre in 2017, the number of volunteers registered on the electronic volunteering platform of the Sharjah Volunteer Centre has reached more than 52,000 volunteers of both sexes from the age of 6 to 99 years, while the number of volunteering opportunities offered reached 1,852 opportunities, and 802,868 volunteering hours were registered.
