Sharjah24: As part of its ‘Award story’ series, the Sharjah-based Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre is commemorating this month the Cooperation Council Medal presented to the Emirate of Sharjah by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in February 2010.
The Award Story series aims to shed light on a monthly basis on the distinctive pieces from the rare collection of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah received the Gulf Cooperation Council Medal during the opening of the fourth scouting meeting in Sharjah for his extraordinary efforts and pioneering role in supporting the Gulf, Arab and international scouting movement and his encouragement of youth to creativity and innovation.
The Gulf Cooperation Council Medal was chosen as the ‘Award story’ during the month of September by Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre as it is one of the most important and distinguished medals awarded to distinguished and generous pioneering figures.
Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre, located near the University City Hall in Sharjah, is considered unique in that all of its contents originate from His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s personal collection. His research resources on Gulf subjects have been brought together over decades and can now be accessed by other researchers.
