Sharjah24: The Sharjah Camel Racing Club (SCRC) is participating in the second edition of the "Al Asayel 2023" exhibition organised by Expo Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The exhibition will take place on Thursday, September 28, at Expo Al Dhaid, featuring the participation of numerous specialised companies, brands, clubs, and government entities.
Matar Ali bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of Sharjah Camel Racing Club, emphasised that the club is keen to participate for the second consecutive time in the "Purebred Camels Exhibition".
He highlighted that this exhibition is a significant event in the Emirate of Sharjah, serving as a unique destination for enthusiasts of camel racing, hunting, and equestrian sports, both amateurs and professionals. It attracts a large audience of camel and horse owners, as well as falcon enthusiasts and specialised veterinary doctors.
Bin Haidan pointed out that the club's participation this year aims to introduce the audience and exhibition visitors to the tools and equipment used in camel racing. Additionally, it aims to acquaint the present generation and youth with the heritage of their ancestors related to camel racing and camel beauty contests.
This is due to the significant interest and care given to camels, given their historical value and vital role in the lives of their forefathers, as they are considered an integral part of the rich heritage components, closely linked to various aspects of their daily lives. The club also plans to showcase a 12-minute documentary providing a historical and cultural overview of camel racing at Al Dhaid Racecourse.
