Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) organised a training programme in first aid for employees of Sharjah Education Academy. The programme aimed to qualify and train employees of government nurseries in Sharjah to deal with emergencies and accidents.
The programme was held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and included an introduction to the principles of primary medical care, the responsibilities of the paramedic, the basics of first aid and its kits, how to communicate with emergency medical services, and aspects of occupational health and safety focusing on injuries and first aid for children.
The training also dealt with workplace injuries, by presenting a number of models through exercises and interactive workshops on dealing with heart attacks using CPR, what to do in the event of a stroke, and providing the necessary assistance to asthma patients.
The training also included how to provide assistance in the event of sudden attacks for people with chronic diseases, emergency cases for patients with diabetes, injuries, internal and external bleeding, and everything related to the management of suffocation and the cardiopulmonary resuscitation device for children.
The programme is based on practical application and live practice that enables the participant to master the correct technical performance of first aid and accuracy in executing its steps. Upon completion of the programme, participants will obtain an accredited international certificate and a paramedic licence.
The department has focused on implementing this programme due to its importance in supporting the efforts of the Sharjah Education Academy in providing a safe environment for children by qualifying workers in government nurseries and enabling them to be fully prepared to deal with various emergency situations, out of belief in the importance of their roles and positions in providing care and security services to children.
