Sharjah 24: The Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah, through its platform at the activities of the International Government Communication Forum in its 12th edition, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau at Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme “Today’s Resources... Tomorrow’s Wealth,” showcased its latest projects concerned with food security.
Dr. Maryam Al Moaini, Head of the Livestock Section at the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, stated that the integrated dairy farm project will see the light in 2024, and aims to achieve food security and provide a healthy milk product.

Maryam Al-Junaibi, Head of the Department’s Center for Innovation and Future Foresight, pointed out that the goal of establishing Sharjah Pastures is to attract farm and livestock owners, reduce overgrazing, and increase vegetation cover with local species that are of benefit to animals.

Jawaher Al-Abdouli, an agricultural researcher at the department, revealed that the department encourages farmers to move from traditional agriculture to sustainable agriculture, use the latest agricultural systems, and switch to protected agriculture.
