Sharjah24: The Secretary-General of the Arab Theater Institute (ATI) , Ismail Abdullah, announced that the members of the jury for the theatrical script writing competitions for adults (over 18) and the theatrical script writing competitions for children (6 to 18 years old) have begun evaluating and judging the texts of the two competitions.
Ismail Abdullah said, "The 16th edition's script writings competitions , which took place in 2023, broke all previous records for entries with 611 total entries, which were split up as follows: 297 texts are addressed to adults over the age of 18, while 256 texts are addressed to youngsters between the ages of 6 and 18. The submission deadline ended on August 31 even though 58 texts were rejected because they didn't adhere to the eligibility requirements.
Ismail Abdullah affirmed that a group of creative people undertake the judging process every year, which is carried out according to precise and clear controls and standards in terms of taking into account writing techniques as well as its contents.
The Arab Theater Institute is anticipated to announce the decisions made by the two arbitration committees in the middle of November 2023, with the first-place winner receiving a cash prize of $5,000, the second-place winner receiving a cash prize of $4,000, and the third-place winner receiving $3,000, along with publishing the winning pieces in its publications, the winners will also receive the Arab Theater Institute 's logos.
