40 entities in Dibba Al Hisn Salt and Marine Fishing Festival

Sharjah 24: Muhammad Al Dhahouri, spokesman for the Salt and Marine Fishing Festival in Dibba Al Hisn, announced that 40 entities, companies and sales outlets participated in the activities of the 10th Salt and Marine Fishing Festival, on Thursday, on Al Hisn Island.
On Thursday, the Municipality of Dibba Al Hisn, in cooperation with the Municipal Council and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, launched the activities of the tenth edition of the Salt and Marine Fishing Festival, in the tent designated for the festival on Al Hisn Island.

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry; His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Sarhan Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs; His Excellency Matar Al Khushari, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA); His Excellency Ahmed bin Yarouf, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Dibba Al Hisn; Talib Safar, Director of the Municipality of Dibba Al Hisn; and a number of officials and representatives of local and federal government departments.

Muhammad Abdullah Al Dhahouri, member of the organising committee and spokesman for the festival, said that the tenth edition has seen a significant expansion in terms of participation and events, whereas about 40 entities, companies, and outlets selling different types of salted fish participate in the 4-day festival.

Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Muhammad Abdullah Al Dhahouri added that the festival offers many educational, craft, and heritage workshops on the salted fish industry and marine heritage, in addition to popular songs and folklore, and many competitions and activities that suit different ages.

Al Dhahouri explained that the festival offers visitors wide options for shopping, whereas vendors give exclusive offers and discounts on different salted fish products, in addition to vegetables, fruits, and products made by productive families.
