Dua’ Al Mahri, Director of Corporate Communications at the Sharjah Ladies Club, explained that the festival came this year as a new summer event targeting ladies and children to learn about Japanese culture in the United Arab Emirates.
She confirmed that the club works day and night to come up with a set of entertaining and beneficial events during the year, targeting all age groups.
Al Mahri added that the festival includes a variety of workshops related to Japanese culture, such as a “Matcha Tea Workshop” for fixing a relaxing Japanese tea, “Ikebana Workshop” to learn the art of flower arrangement, “Kanji Workshop” to explore the beauty and delicacy of Japanese calligraphy, in addition to a Sakura Beach Hat Painting Workshop, decorating summer’s hat with non-other than the famous Japanese sakura flowers.
