Sharjah 24: The Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators organised "From Tunisia to Sharjah" event to inspire and educate participants in the field of theatre and performance.
From June 28 to July 1, 2023, the event took place in the Rubu' Qarn Theatre and Performing Arts Centre in City Centre Al Zahia and featured theatrical performances from Tunisia's National Centre for Puppetry Arts.
Children and adults alike participated in the event's interactive workshops, and there were also separate sessions for the Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Sharjah Capability Development groups. The event's overarching goals are the furtherance of creative collaboration and the sharing of knowledge in the area of puppetry.
The team from the Rubu' Qarn Foundation met with representatives from the Tunisian National Centre for Puppetry Arts to discuss potential collaboration and participation in upcoming festivals. The goal of the initiative is to improve the participants' artistic abilities and strengthen links between artists and theatre organisations.
Abdulaziz Al Numan, a member of the Rubu' Qarn’s Board of Trustees, emphasised the importance of collaboration with various international institutions that support theatre and performing arts.
Dr. Adnan Salloum, a performing arts expert at the Rubu' Qarn Foundation, expressed his delight for hosting the National Centre for Puppetry, saying, "We hope that this will be the beginning of a successful and continuous cooperation with the National Centre for Puppet Arts in Tunisia, which will benefit the members of Rubu' Qarn."
