Sharjah24: Whereas the “Rubu’ Qarn” Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, seeks to prepare an educated generation capable of engaging in constructive dialogue, expressing opinions and accepting the other, a group of affiliates of the Foundation’s institutions, represented by "Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah", participated in an interactive session within the "Book Club" activities, in cooperation with the “UAE Board on Books for Young People”.
The session, held in Sharjah House of Wisdom, hosted writer Shaikha Al-Zeyara to discuss her second novel in Young Adult Literature, entitled “45 Hours Under Snow”, through which she joined young people on a fun adventure and a long journey with the family of Hayan, Jinan and Jaber, towards the family’s mountain hut for the winter vacation, where unexpected events were waiting for them.
The session gave the opportunity to 50 male and female affiliates to express their opinions on the novel that included different expressive and rhetorical pictures, in a constructive critical manner. The novel also reflected the writer’s success to write the novel dramatic plot, which presented many positive messages, human values, and respect for the culture of others.
The writer praised the way affiliates held the discussion, which is the result of years of education, reading and culture.
The book club programme aims to encourage young people to read and acquire knowledge, develop literature skills and broaden their knowledge, enhance critical reading skills and open horizons that contribute to advancing the participants’ creative imagination.
It is worth noting that the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating future Leaders and Innovators, launched in September 2016, under the generous directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, is the first Emirati, Arab and regional institution that aims to build an Emirati generation capable of leading and influencing the future, while committed to their national identity.
Rubu’ Qarn Foundation is the umbrella for the Sharjah-based entities Sharjah Children, Sharjah Youth, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Sharjah Capability Development "Tatweer".
