Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Camel Racing Field saw fierce competitions for 1-year old camels, organised by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
Competitions included 20 rounds for the 1-year old camels of tribesmen from the United Arab Emirates and the GCC countries, for a distance of 1500 meters.
His Excellency Matar Ali bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, confirmed that the 1-year old camels Race in Al Dhaid Camel Racing Field provided a great opportunity for all camel owners to participate with their camels of the 1-year old category, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, which focuses on adhering to this ancient historical heritage, whereas camel sport constitutes a major aspect of the history of the United Arab Emirates, and His Highness is keen on the survival and continuity of such heritage sport.
