Al Qasimia University signs two memoranda of understanding

Sharjah 24: Al Qasimia University signed two joint scientific memoranda of understanding with the Islamic University of the Maldives and Villa College in the Republic of the Maldives, aiming at developing and investing the university’s relations and academic and research partnerships locally, regionally and internationally, in the fields of scientific research, teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, education, training and consultancy.
The two memoranda of understanding were signed by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Awad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Zakaria, Director of the Islamic University of Maldives, and His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Anwar, Director of Villa College, in the presence of officials from both sides.

The two MoUs are expected to lay the foundation for many future scientific projects and initiatives, in addition to promoting and exchanging research projects. It was also agreed to jointly exchange experiences and research and benefit from conferences, seminars and workshops organised by the three parties.

The MoUs also aim to promote academic and knowledge relations, and to strengthen the joint programmes of both universities and Villa College to advance the scientific and educational level. The terms of the memorandum stipulate exanching scientific and educational experiences and knowledge between the two universities and Villa College in a way that contributes to the development of academic and scientific aspects; nominating of distinguished students to study at Al Qasimia University; promoting cooperation in joint research of common interest, in addition to participating in seminars, forums and scientific conferences.

Dr. Awwad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, confirmed that the two memoranda will constitute an important opportunity for cooperation with higher education institutions in Asia, as part of the university's efforts to attract students from the Republic of the Maldives, whose students are joining Al Qasimia University for the first time, adding a new nationality to the 120 nationalities registered and studied at Al Qasimia University.

Dr. Awwad Al-Khalaf stated that the agreement confirms the university's commitment to establishing partnerships with the most prominent educational institutions, which constitutes a distinctive addition to the university and leaves an important imprint on its educational path. 

Dr. Awwad Al-Khalaf concluded that the agreement also contributes to creating a stimulating environment for growth and development in different fields of research, scientific publishing, exchange of educational experiences, and student attraction.
