National Library and Archives observes Archives Day

Sharjah24:The National Library and Archives presented a paper titled "The Importance of Documents and Archives in Recording Heritage" at a symposium put forward by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage under the theme "The Future of Archiving and Sustainability of Documents."

Fatima Al Mazroui, Head of the Historical Archives Department, emphasised the necessity of conserving historical records in the study paper since they reflect the civilisation of the nation.

The study also shed light on the memoranda of understanding and agreements that link the National Library and Archives with a vast number of archive organisations, allowing them to exchange documents. Al Mazrouei acknowledged that the National Library and Archives are interested in making archive items available via electronic platforms such as the Arabian Gulf Digital Archive.

Al-Mazrouei reviewed the National Library and Archives' journals and other publications, which provide scholars, professors, and others with recorded knowledge on the history and legacy of the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Gulf area.
