Sharjah24: The Sharjah Child and Family Protection Centre organised an event called "I too have a voice" to celebrate International Child Helpline Day. The event aimed to honour children's rights and raise awareness about the role of the Child Helpline.
Students from the Al Andalus School in Sharjah attended the event, along with female leaders, committee officials, and employees from federal and government entities.

Kholoud Al Ali, Director of the Child and Family Protection Centre said the centre aims to introduce children to their rights and remind them that their voice is heard by different members of society, and they enjoy all the rights they deserve. The event included a tour for children in the centre to learn more about its departments and its role in protecting and caring for children.

Al Ali stated, "We are actively seeking ambassadors in various locations, especially schools, to serve as our representatives. Their role is to educate their peers and acquaintances about the centre and its important mission. More importantly, we want to ensure they understand that the centre is there to protect them from any harm they may encounter. That's why we have decided to open the doors for school students and parents to visit the centre."

Since the beginning of 2023 until the end of April of the same year, the centre has received approximately 1,208 reports from children. Al Ali emphasised that children can easily reach the emergency hotline by dialing 800700. She also highlighted the significant risk posed by electronic programs and applications, which can lead to various ethical, behavioural, and psychological issues affecting children. Al Ali called upon parents to embrace their children and prioritise non-violent and non-pressuring approaches when dealing with them.
