Sharjah 24: Under the theme “Train your Brain,” Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) participated in Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF), held under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
The 14th Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF), which began on Wednesday, at the Expo Centre Sharjah and goes until the 14th of May and is coordinated by the Sharjah Book Authority.
SSSD participation in this cultural event, hosted annually in Sharjah, is characterised by introducing 48 different cultural, creative and artistic workshops, under the supervision of the Social Education Department of SSSD, where a group of social workers participate in presenting the workshops.
On this occasion, Mariam Al Qaseer, Director of the Social Education Department, said that it is expected that the SSSD pavilion will attract 5000 children during the festival. She added that the department was keen to include all types of programmes for children.
She concluded that some community personalities, the department's counseling centre and the social training department will participate in the pavilion.
