Sharjah 24: During the exciting Sharjah Padel Tournament organised by Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), held at the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, featured international ex-football stars from around the world, four teams managed to reach the semi-finals.
After intense matches Friday, the teams featuring Roma famed Totti and Annoni; the duo of Marcolin and Dutch professional football manager and former player Seedorf; Brazilian superstar Dida and Costacurta; as well as Oddo and Italian football manager and ex-player Brocchi; beat their competition to compete for the title tomorrow (Saturday). 

The celebrity team who wins on Saturday will also play a friendly game with a local team providing fans an extra chance to see their favourite ex-footballers in action.

The padel tournament is held in conjunction with the Sharjah International Footgolf tournament, organised by (SCTDA) with the participation of renowned international ex-football players including Diego Fuser, Beppe Signori, Ibrahim Ba, Enrico Annoni, Stefano Eranio, Donadoni, Cristian Zaccardo, Luca Antonini, Massimo Oddo, Cristian Brocchi, Sébastien Frey, Dario Marcolin and Costacurta.

The first round, which kicked off in front of an excited crowd that came to cheer for their favourite team, saw team Totti and Annoni taking on team Marcolin and Seedorf, while team Oddo and Brocchi faced off with team Dida and Costacurta, finally, team Eranio and Signori put their skills against team Antonini and Zaccardo.

The competition, to the delight of those watching, witnessed 16 ex-football stars display their athletic abilities and entertain the crowds, providing a great spectacle and event for those in Sharjah, which falls in line with SCDTA’s mission to promote the emirate as a destination for major events, and bolster Sharjah’s status on the global tourism map in various fields including sports and adventure.
