Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) opened the door for elderly people wishing to participate in the "The Big Heart" award, which it launched last year, after it received a lot of demand from this category and from the Emirati community, especially since it is the first award of its kind dedicated only to the elderly.
On the occasion, Asmaa Al Khudairi, Director of the Sharjah Age-Friendly Office of the SSSD, said that the award came within the framework of the department's continuous endeavour to enhance the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah and its humane approach towards social welfare, and in line with the initiatives of Sharjah, an age-friendly city.
The award aims to appreciate the elderly for their efforts in various activities, motivate them to adapt and develop their daily lifestyle, in addition to spreading the culture of green heart practices and active aging, as well as highlighting successful examples, and strengthening the membership of the Emirate of Sharjah in the global network of age-friendly cities. .
