Sharjah 24: The "Tamkeen" Office of the Sharjah Social Services Department planned the "Fursa" programme's operations at the Centro Hotel in Sharjah to aid the department's beneficiaries by providing employment possibilities.
Eight private organisations participated in the scheme to help the department's social security recipients gain employment.
Amna Al Hammadi, Director of the Tamkeen Office, said that the Sharjah Social Services Department has been organising the "Fursa" programme since its launch in 2020, with the aim of providing job opportunities for some categories of beneficiaries who are able to work.
According to Al Hammadi, 47 low-income beneficiaries looked into the job openings and submitted their resumes to be considered for the positions.
As a reflection of the department's efforts to realise its objective of converting from care to empowerment, the Tamkeen Office focuses on those under the age of 45 who are in a position to by providing them with a chance to work and acquire the knowledge, talents, and experiences they'll need to succeed in the workforce and contribute meaningfully to society.
