Sharjah24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed the implementation of reconstructing and upgrading the Khalidiya station.
The project is an important achievement for the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, and comes within the framework of the authority’s strategic plan to improve the energy infrastructure in the region and meet the growing demand for electricity.
The project was implemented quickly and efficiently, in line with the authority’s objectives to raise the efficiency of the electrical network and develop it to meet the needs of customers and ensure the provision of safe and reliable services to the community. Al-Khalidiya station feeds the residential areas, which include Al-Khan, Al-Layyah and Al-Khalidiya.
Eng. Hamad Al-Tunaiji, Director of the Energy Transmission Department, explained that this project contributes significantly to enhancing the authority’s ability to provide electricity services efficiently and contribute to the development of the region and achieve environmental and economic sustainability, noting that the authority, with this achievement, confirms its commitment to improving and developing the energy infrastructure in various regions and provide high quality services that meet the requirements of all segments of society.
Eng. Jawaher Hameed, Head of the Civil Works Department at the Energy Transportation Department, indicated that the technical team developed the station in accordance with the highest international standards, and based on the best civil and electrical engineering practices. The capacity of the station has been increased from 20 MVA to 40 MVA.
