Major General Al Shamsi attends Parents and Partners Forum 2023

Sharjah 24: Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, witnessed Thursday morning, the activities of the Parents and Partners Forum 2023, which was organised by the Eastern Region Police Department in Khorfakkan, with the aim of enhancing police-society communication and activating the role of community partnership, in order to achieve the vision of the Ministry of Interior in making the UAE the world’s best country in achieving security and safety.
The event was attended by Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of Police Operations at Sharjah Police; Colonel Dr. Ali Al Kay Al Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, members of the Sharjah Consultative Council, heads of municipal councils, directors of departments and government agencies in the Eastern Region, several police officers, and a large gathering of dignitaries and residents of the Eastern Region.

In his opening speech, Colonel Dr. Ali Al Kay Al Hamoudi said that this forum enhances partnership and cooperation between the police and society, strengthens bridges of communication through direct dialogue with decision-makers, and involves everyone in security and societal challenges with the aim of consulting in developing solutions to confront these repercussions, stressing the keenness of Sharjah Police to expand areas of cooperation and work side by side with all government institutions to achieve the lofty vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah in enhancing and consolidating Sharjah's position at all levels, explaining that communication, consultation and participation between all social groups and national institutions is the best pot through which energies of society are melted and united to push efforts towards achieving sustainable development.

Opening the first session, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police said: Community partnership is one of the pillars in achieving security and tranquility in the Emirate of Sharjah, and belief in the awareness of society and its bearing of social responsibility requires us to fulfill our responsibilities by uniting all individuals and institutions in maintaining security and stability as concerted efforts in cooperation with the police contribute to achieving security stability, overcoming all security and social challenges and risks, and finding solutions to face the resulting repercussions.

He stressed the keenness of the Sharjah Police to raise the percentage of the sense of security and safety and strengthen the bonds of trust between the police and community institutions through the development of strategic plans that are in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Interior aimed at increasing the percentage of the sense of security and safety in the UAE, pointing to many future plans and initiatives that have contributed and will contribute significantly to the increase in security in the emirate.

The second session touched on several themes, including the interactive role of municipal councils in conveying the voice of the people to the security apparatus, enhancing communication with members of society, and highlighting the most important requirements and needs that are directly related to the security apparatus, and societal challenges at the level of the cities of the Eastern Region. The session included the participation and interventions of the attendees, in addition to answering questions and inquiries raised by a number of participants.

At the end of the sessions, Major Abdullah Ahmed Al-Shehhi reviewed the proposal of the Sharjah Council for Community Security, which is a development project presented by the Sharjah Police to the community with the aim of strengthening the bonds of community relationship, establishing an established partnership in all security and social fields, and giving community sectors and strategic partners an opportunity to work and participate in supporting community decision-making to enhance security and stability.

At the end of the forum, Major General Saif Al-Zari Al-Shamsi honoured a number of partners, media representatives and community members who cooperated with the police and supported its efforts to enhance security and safety.
