SEWA receives SCC’s delegation

Sharjah24: Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) , received the Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Utilities Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) , to discuss a number of main topics, including the Authority’s initiatives, policy, future plan and vision, in order to enhance provided services.
The meeting was attended by Abdullah Al Shamsi, Director General of the Authority; Obaid Awad Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, Ahmed Rashid Al Naqbi, Abdullah Musabah Al Ketbi, Abdullah Ibrahim Musa, Ali Saif Al-Nadas, Awad Rashid Al-Tunaiji, and from the General Secretariat, Amna Basalib, responsible for session affairs and secretary of the committee.

Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, welcomed the delegation to discuss the work of the authority in its plenary session, stressing that the authority welcomes this invitation and will work to support its efforts in developing its service system and keeping pace with the requirements of the development process in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

He stressed that the authority is keen to cooperate with all institutions, departments and companies to raise energy efficiency and provide services with high specifications and quality, and facilitate procedures for customers and implement more studies and special research to achieve sustainable development, pointing out that natural gas services reached about 296 thousand beneficiaries in Sharjah, while in  Khorfakkan reached 735 beneficiaries, and in Kalba reached 785, while the number of beneficiaries of the scholarships provided by SEWA since its launch in 2002 reached 11 thousand male and female students.

During the visit, a number of topics related to the development of electricity, water and gas services were discussed, and the Authority's policies in providing scholarships to the citizens of the Emirate of Sharjah was also discussed. 

Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority explained that efforts are continuing to provide services at the highest levels, to meet the current and future needs in various regions.

Obaid Awad Al-Tunaiji, Chairman of the Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security Affairs and Public Utilities Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council, conveyed the greetings of the Chairman of the Consultative Council, the Vice-Chairman, the Secretary-General and the members to the Chairman of SEWA and to its cadres  for their efforts in serving the Emirate of Sharjah. He praised the level of permanent upgrading of all services and the development of their performance system in order to keep pace with the urban renaissance in the Emirate of Sharjah.
