Al Majaz Amphitheatre to host Arab National Orchestra from US

Sharjah 24: Al Majaz Amphitheatre will host the Arab National Orchestra from the US state of Michigan, in twin concerts that revive the heritage of authentic Arabic music with the distinctive voices of artists presenting tarab, a unique Arab and Middle Eastern musical tradition, in the spirit of the age.
The audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy such popular artists as Mai Farouk from Egypt, Muhannad Mashlah, Abeer Nehme from Lebanon and Mari Sarhan, on January 20 and 21.

The two concerts, being held as part of the #Lets Majaz season, feature leading Arab and Arab American singers and musicians of different origins, led by Michael Ibrahim, founder and conductor of the Arab National Orchestra. Ibrahim is famous for his lively presence on the stage through his kinetic interaction with musical rhythms from across the Arab world. 

Led by Ibrahim, the Arab National Orchestra has over the years attracted huge audiences of all ages and sections of American society. The UAE audience will join the Arab National Orchestra to revisit some of the most iconic and immortal songs sung and performed by the greats like Umm Kulthum, Muhammad Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim Hafez, Wadih Al-Safi, Fairuz and many others.

Since the inception of the orchestra in 2010, it has been able to make the audience live a wonderful artistic experience, Ibrahim said “We wanted to be a way for Arabs to get to know themselves more, and for generations of music lovers to realise the musical treasures they possess,” he emphasised.

On Friday, January 20, the Al Majaz Amphitheatre audience will get to enjoy the extraordinary orchestra in the company of vocals of popular Arab singers like Mai Farouk and Muhannad Mashlah. They will be presenting the most beautiful songs from the shared Egyptian and Syrian musical heritage. 

Celebrating Arab greats
Mai Farouk is considered one of the most beautiful authentic Egyptian voices that shines in songs from the immortal Umm Kulthum. She has also performed at the Egyptian Opera House concerts, and presented a large number of songs and series sequences. 

Muhannad Mashlah, on the other hand, is famous for his tarab voice since his debut on the Arab "Superstar" programme and his singing for the Syrian and Lebanese artists, as well as singing folklore from the Arab musical heritage with a modern musical vision.

On Saturday, January 21, the Arab National Orchestra will be joined by popular singers Abeer Nehme and Mari Sarhan, in an evening that reflects the various musical rhythms of authentic Arab art.

Abeer Nehme is known for her ability to sing in different musical styles. She has demonstrated a special musical spirit and talent that has attracted the attention of the public across the region. 

The Lebanese singer Mari Sarhan has also been able to attract millions thanks to her strong vocals and unique musical method. Thanks to her mellifluous voice and unique rendition, she has become one of the most popular and most influential artists on social media as well.
