The Omani delegation included Jamal bin Hassan al Mousawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum; Raiya Mohammed Al Kindi, Director General of Museums at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism; Youssef bin Saeed Al Hashemi, Director of the National Museum Security Office; Aziza Sulaiman Al Shaqsi; and Majed Salem. Al Raqadi, from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
The Omani delegation's visit to the DGR is part of Sharjah's hosting of the 'Omani Civilisation: Origins and Development' exhibition, which the Sharjah Archeology Museum is organising under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The exhibition, which kicks off on Wednesday, is hosted at the Sharjah Archeology Museum in Al Abar Area.
The visit also comes as part of the DGR's ongoing mission to highlight the developmental journey and the emirate's cultural project in addition to Sharjah destinations that bolster the emirate's status as a global tourism destination to visiting senior government officials and diplomats.
Welcoming the Omani delegation, Sheikh Fahim stressed the strong bonds between the two sides are built on a solid foundation of common historical, geographical, cultural, and social ties that yielded immense benefits to the two counties.
The Chairman said: "We are delighted to host our Omani brothers in their second home and among their families to explore furthering our partnership pursuant to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Member Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to forge a bright and prosperous future for the two sides."
Sheikh Fahim accompanied the Omani delegation on a tour of the House of Wisdom, where they were briefed on the futuristic library's unique features and social hub features.
