E.R Police launches "Tourism in Safety and Security" campaign

The Eastern Region Police Department of the Sharjah Police General Command launched, on Wednesday, at its headquarters in Khorfakkan, the security and awareness campaign “Tourism in Safety and Security”, which was held in cooperation with a number of strategic partners, including the Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the Mubadara Authority in Sharjah, and the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club.

Colonel Dr. Ali Al-Kay Al-Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, stated in statements to Sharjah 24 that the campaign coincides with the national domestic tourism campaign, "The Most Beautiful Winter in the World," and will continue for two months during the peak tourist turnout period in the Eastern Region.

Al-Hamoudi added that the campaign is aligned with the department 's objectives in achieving the highest standards of security and safety and creating a sense of security among visitors of the region. The campaign includes many intensive field activities in tourist destinations of the region .

He explained that the campaign will focus on providing security services to the visitors of the various tourist areas , regulating traffic on the roads, providing a safe tourist environment that enhances the sense of security and safety, and guiding them to the services of the Ministry of Interior and Sharjah Police provided via smart applications and the website.

The Director of the Eastern Region Police Department pointed out that the campaign programme will be implemented to include educating tourists about wrong practices while driving in the rainy season, or when entering valleys, in addition to acquainting them with the safest way in practicing mountain and sea sports .
