Sharjah24: Under the slogan "Managing Investment Returns of Voluntary Efforts", the Sharjah Center for Voluntary Work (SCVW) at the Department of Social Services in Sharjah, is organising the 2nd Volunteering Forum, in Aljada Hall in Sharjah, coinciding with the International Volunteer Day (IVD), which falls on December 5 of each year.
The International Volunteer Day is celebrated by the United Nations in most countries of the world, as it is a day that recognises the efforts of volunteers in transforming their societies, economies, and environment, highlighting their distinguished contributions in various areas.
The 2nd Volunteering Forum aims to exchange experiences about the investment returns of voluntary efforts on the individual and society, the role of individuals and institutions to maximize those returns and how to evaluate them, with developing a mechanism to measure the economic value of volunteer efforts.
Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion in the department, said that the forum is being held this year to highlight the role of volunteer work in the country during the Covid-19 pandemic, during which volunteerism has considerable values.
The forum includes a dialogue session underscoring the impact of volunteer work on the individual and society, including 3 main axes.
