Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, witnessed the first annual forum of the Social Support Centre at the Sharjah Police.
This came under the theme "A Safe Family, A Safe Society”, which was organised with the aim of highlighting the social role of Sharjah Police in enhancing security, safety and family cohesion among members of society, spreading awareness and addressing family problems, according to best practices.
The forum was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Majid bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department, Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of the Sharjah Charity International, Ahmed Ibrahim Al Meel, Director of the Sharjah Social Services Department, Afra Saif Al Shaer from the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Saif Khaled Al Jasmi, educational consultant at the Sharjah Private Education Authority, Dr. Roqaya Jassim Al Mazmi, and a number of representatives of the participating parties.
The forum began with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and a presentation of a film about the family and its impact on children and society.
Lieutenant-Colonel Dr. Roqaya Jassim Al Mazmi welcomed the attendees of the forum, which is considered one of the important forums that sheds light on the most important points that ensure quality and leadership in achieving sustainable social development that ensures the protection of the family and society.
The forum sessions began with a session presented by His Excellency Major General Saif Al Shamsi, during which he reviewed the vision and approach of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, in building the human being, through follow-up and presence in everything related to the future of the citizen in the Emirate of Sharjah.
His Excellency also reviewed all the achievements made under His Highness’s guidance to build and develop the human being, leading to the future foreseeing of community development, through services, institutions, educational and health facilities.
The Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police praised the efforts made in organising this forum, which is considered one of the important forums that discusses all existing challenges and exploit the available opportunities for sustainable social development.
At the end of the forum, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police honoured the participating parties, represented by the Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department, Al Qasimia University, Sharjah Charity International, Sharjah Social Services Department, Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and Sharjah Private Education Authority.
The honouring also included the lecturers of the sessions, the collaborating parties, as well as a number of female students of Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah.
