Sharjah 24: A delegation from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has visited the Themar Al-Emarat farm, the Sharjah-based largest plantation specialised in the production of mushrooms and vegetables nationwide.
The visit is part of SCCI'S field visits to member establishments aimed at showing its keenness to follow up with the business community and private sector in the emirate, enhancing communication with them, and identifying the key challenges they face to discuss ways to confront them.

The SCCI'S delegation was headed by Abdallah Sultan Al-Owais, Chairman of the Chamber, who was accompanied by a host of the Chamber’s BoD members. Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, Director-General of the Chamber, and several SCCI's department directors were also in the delegation. They were received by Dr. Ghanim Al-Hajri, Partner and CEO of Themar Al-Emarat company, who accompanied the delegation on a tour of production lines. The guests were introduced to the company’s products and innovative solutions of advanced hydroponic techniques that eliminate the dependence on climate conditions, pesticides, or chemical fertilisers, and leave no waste.

Abdallah Sultan Al-Owais expressed his pride in Themar Al-Emarat's capabilities and organic products, which form high-quality additions to the UAE endeavours aimed at reinforcing the national food security strategy, and to the pioneering economic scene of the Emirate of Sharjah, which, thanks to the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, managed to become a hub for quality and innovative industries by providing best services to investors as part of the emirate’s economic diversification plans.

Al-Owais pointed out that the Sharjah Chamber is always committed to supporting the business community across the emirate, and always seeks to develop the economic activities of the private sector and enhance its competitiveness, by augmenting investment opportunities, and providing booster advantages in cooperation with the government agencies. He spotlighted the Chamber's keenness to constantly communicate with businesses to set a course for future work, get acquainted with their views and suggestions that contribute to the improvement of the Chamber’s services, and have a closer look at the workflow in industrial and commercial establishments and the quality of their products and services, which help develop the appropriate approaches for the chamber's marketing and promotional programmes.

Dr. Ghanim Al-Hajri highly appreciated the SCCI'S delegation visit to the farming company, noting that it reflects the Chamber's keenness to back up its members, provide advice, follow up with them to identify their needs and the challenges they face, with the aim of encouraging them to come up with proactive plans and initiatives and innovate advanced methods to push production ahead, protect natural resources, and attract more investors thereto.

The Themar Al-Emarat farm spreads over a 7-hectare area, consisting of two parts: one of them is for producing mushrooms, and the other is for hydroponic cultivation and open agriculture. The farm works in agricultural production and the recycling of agricultural inputs and outputs to protect the environment from any waste.
