Sharjah 24 – WAM: After a strong week, the UAE national jiu-jitsu team looks to continue its winning streak and defend the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship crown as the ‘falcons’ compete in the Under-18 division at Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City on Sunday.
The team has enjoyed a phenomenal performance in the Under-16 and Adults categories amassing 29 medals.
The national team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, has taken home 10 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals since the championship began and looks unstoppable with Under-18 and Under-21 competitions yet to begin. The team’s coach Ramon Lemos said the team will assert its dominance in the remainder of the competitions as well.
The national team administrator, Yasser Al Qubaisi, too appeared excited about the team’s great showing in the first week.
