Sharjah 24: It is in line with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and with His Highness's unwavering support for the sport of forefathers, the Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan's Cup will be the opening race of the 2022 season at Sharjah Longines Racecourse on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.
The race is supported by the Sharjah Sports Council and the media sponsor, Sharjah Sports Channel, and is sponsored by Longines, the official sponsor of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club's 2022/2023 racing season and the United Arab Emirates' main contributor to covering equestrian events.
Seventy-six horses compete in the race, including purebred Arabians, local horses, and purebred hybrids.
