Sharjah24 - Reuters: Former Brazilian soccer star Marcos Evangelista de Moraes, who is also known as 'Cafu', welcomed FIFA’s Qatar World Cup trophy in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium on Friday (October 21) during the cup's Latin American tour.
The famous trophy was at Maracana for fans to see before traveling to Sao Paulo.

Cafu served as a host for the event and unveiled the cup.

"I hope the Maracana can bring good energy for this World Cup and inspire the children," he said.

The Original FIFA World Cup Trophy is made of solid gold, with a design that dates back to 1974. The famous icon can only be held by a select group of people, including former winners and Heads of State.

This will mark the fifth global FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour.
