Sharjah24 : Visitors at the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) will have the opportunity to witness and experience the unique artistic charisma of one of the most popular film personalities of the Arab world, Egyptian actor and director Karim Abdel-Aziz, during his participation in a panel discussion in the Ballroom at Expo Centre Sharjah on Saturday, November 12, at 7:30 pm.
In a session also featuring screenwriter Ahmed Mourad, the two celebrities will detail the successful journeys of their challenging careers, and offer insights into the most prominent films and series they have been a part of.

SIBF visitors can get acquainted with Abdel-Aziz’s rich, three-decades plus acting career, and his early initiation into the industry by his father, the veteran director Mohamed Abdel-Aziz, that further led him to study film direction at The High Cinema Institute of Egypt and quickly carve his name among the top selling stars in drama and action. SIBF audiences will also learn about the celebrated actor’s experience of working in popular works inspired by bestselling novels, such as El Feel El Azraq (The Blue Elephant), a 2014 Egyptian drama/horror/mystery film.

Sharing the most significant highlights of his career, Abdel Aziz will also take visitors on a nostalgic journey with details of his most memorable roles in prominent films and television series including Abu Ali, El basha telmeez, Welad el 'Am,  El Horoub, and most recently, The Choice (Al Ekhteyar).

Author and screenwriter Ahmed Mourad, an increasingly important figure in the Arabic literary scene, will reveal to the SIBF audience his behind-the-scenes experience of creating his bestselling novels, many of which were later adapted into popular Arab TV series such as Kera We El Gin and El Feel El Azraq.

In El Feel El Azraq, Ahmed Mourad explores a dark, strange world, where he blends thriller and crime with elements of psychology. Among many other works, El Feel El Azraq was also adapted into a film starring Karim Abdel-Aziz, Khaled Al-Sawy, and Nelly Karim.

Held under the theme, ‘Spread the Word’, from November 2-13 at Expo Centre Sharjah, SIBF 2022 brings together a distinguished group of writers, storytellers, actors and actresses from the Arab region and the world and will host 1,047 cultural and creative activities over the course of 12 days.
