The event was held in the presence of Khamis Al Mazrouei, Governor of Wadi Al Helo, several officials and a large crowd.
Held in the heritage village in Wadi Al Helo region, the event included a heritage exhibition where pavilions exhibited the folklore of the two brotherly countries.
Speaking about the event, Al Suwaiji told “Sharjah 24” that celebrating the folklore of the two countries is an embodiment of the convergent cultural component, and a consolidation of customs, traditions, and folklore.
He added that the event comes as part of the department's series of programmes during the last quarter of this year, and is scheduled to be organised in various cities and regions of the Eastern Region, along with a number of cultural and artistic programmes, including puppet shows for children, shadow theatre, a cultural evening, and poetry readings.
Al Suwaiji explained that the number of programmes organised during the month of October reached about 26, bringing the total activities organised by the department in the Eastern Region to 59 programmes by the end of this year.
