Sharjah 24: His Excellency Hussain Mohammed Al Mahmoudi, CEO of Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTIP), stated that Sharjah is hosting new projects focused on future transportation technology, as the first test phase of the sky pod project has been completed and the operation started for short distance.
His Excellency added that work is underway on the next stage for longer distances, being the first practical application of this type of modern transportation at the level of the region, in addition to the start of the third phase of shipping container transportation line.

His Excellency affirmed pride in Sharjah hosting one of the largest testing centres for future trains, which aims to consolidate knowledge and scientific research in this field.

In exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24”, His Excellency noted that this also aims to support the country’s strategy to localise knowledge and advanced industries, including future trains, where one of the largest international companies specialised in the smart transport sector, which is based in the SRTIP as its headquarters, is working to develop a system of innovative solutions.
