Sharjah24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) announced that its central laboratories has passed the international accreditation assessment for its technical quality system by the British Accreditation Authority “UKAS” for the 23rd consecutive time.
The SM food lab, and environment and consumables lab have met all the technical quality requirements to pass the renewal assessment process.
The renewal of this international certification is a culmination of the SM continuous achievements and great role in strengthening the public health system in the emirate of Sharjah. The SCM is always keen on raising the standards of consumers' safety and providing them with a healthy environment and safe food.
The Building Materials Laboratory was also granted accreditation in the ISO 17025 by UKAS for the first time, which reflects the qualitative leap in the accuracy of the examination methods and the reliability of results, thanks to its qualified personnel and modern examination devices that are in accordance with international specifications and standards.
