In this context, Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality and Chairman of the Rain Emergency Committee, confirmed that the municipality has provided equipment, mechanisms and work cadres in cooperation with Bee’ah to provide the necessary support to work teams from various parties in the city of Kalba to deal immediately with the effects of the weather, especially the withdrawal of rain water from the areas which do not have drainage networks and to deal with water gatherings with high efficiency, and start cleaning work for various roads, squares and residential areas as well as removing all waste.
Al Tunaiji explained that the municipality provided high-powered pumping stations, innovative dam pumps, and more than 150 tanks to deal with rainwater gatherings and any emergency and preserve the safety of lives and property, noting that Sharjah Municipality closely follows up the weather conditions, and sets plans by all the rain emergency committees to deal with any water fluctuations, and spread awareness messages to all members of society.
For his part, Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO of Bee’ah, confirmed that various types of vehicles and mechanisms were provided for Bee’ah’s fleet to provide the necessary support in removing the waste that had accumulated due to rain in various areas of the city of Kalba, especially the residential areas, based on Bee’ah’s keenness to enhance cooperation and joint coordination with various parties and unifying efforts to deal with the weather condition and its effects, with the aim of enhancing the flow of movement for the population and other work teams, as well as enhancing the cultural and aesthetic appearance of the city of Kalba.
The joint work teams continue their efforts around the clock through the provision of technical and administrative staff, support groups, various pumps and tanks to withdraw rainwater, as well as the provision of heavy and light equipment and mechanisms to complete various works with high efficiency.
