Sharjah 24: The Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, in cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council, organised the first round of the "Sharjah Swimming Tournament" on Al Hamriyah Beach in Sharjah.
The Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, clarified that the tournament is being organised for the first time in the name of the Emirate of Sharjah, within the activities and programmes of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, based on its objectives in spreading and developing water games, and within the strategy of the Sharjah Sports Council to develop different games.
Al Midfa added that 80 individuals participated in the first round competitions. The tournament includes five rounds from Al Hamriya through Khorfakkan, Kalba and Dibba Al Hisn, and the final round will be in Sharjah.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club confirmed that an amount of 45,000 dirhams has been allocated to the winners of the competitions, which bears the name of the Emirate, and it is one of the interesting tournaments that are organised in the open waters.
