Sharjah24: The Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah organised a session for author Amal Farah entitled "Children's Writer Culture between the Language of Children and Young People," which was moderated by Dr Saeed Al-Amoudi as part of the Sharjah Cultural Salon.
Among the most difficult genres to break into, Farah argues, is children's literature, which is characterised by the specificity of the language it employs. Rather than producing programmes, series, or films for children in the Arab world, she noted that the region imports them from elsewhere, and she confirmed that Arab culture must be taken into consideration when creating programmes for children.
She argued that we should take advantage of the digital age's advancements in writing tools while maintaining our core values and beliefs.
